Nice to meet you, we’re Dry Clean Only.
Also known as DCO Denver. We are a creative gathering and event space located in the Clayton neighborhood of Denver, CO. Our doors are open to traditional and experiential events including (but never limited to) weddings, corporate events, photoshoots, community gatherings, showers, workshops, trade shows, and so much more. When it’s all said and done, we aim to provide our clients with an excellent and immersive experience, and a blank canvas to bring to life all of their biggest ideas.
As creative professionals, we know how crucial the backdrop and atmosphere are to bringing a vision to life. Through Dry Clean Only, we are making our own dreams come true with a space that can support the types of creative events we love and will uplift the community around it.
We aim to become a staple in the Denver community. Not only as a place where people can commune and celebrate, but a space for everyone in our community to gather, express their creativity, and have a good time.
You’re not a dry cleaner, why the name?
After years of renovating, construction, and environmental clean-up, we wanted to pay homage to the building’s history.
Built in the early 1930s, the space was developed as a grocery store serving the Clayton and Cole neighborhoods.
In the 1960s, the building was converted into a furniture store. There were some questionable modifications made during the conversion including large holes in the floor and a haphazard addition to the front of the building.
The building became a dry cleaner and later a leather + fur cleaner beginning in the 1980s. This business closed in 2014 whereupon the building sat vacant and in growing disrepair until our team purchased it in 2020.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
Obviously, taking over an old dry cleaning building had it’s challenge. In addition to the building repairs and renovations, our team took over extensive environmental monitoring and clean up.
We work with a team of environmental engineers to monitor the progress of decontamination on our property as well as other sites throughout the neighborhood. Although we have eliminated any risks through concentrated cleanup efforts, we will remain proactive in our monitoring and remediation partnerships to ensure the space and surrounding areas are safe.
